Travel Sketch Opportunity!!

 Hello fellow sketchers one and all!  Amy Bogard writing here (one of the admins of our Cincinnati USK chapter) returned from my summer’s traveling and painting, sketching and artful mayhem in general.  I’m thrilled to announce to you that registration is now OPEN to all of my travel sketching workshops for 2025 so let’s make some travel plans!! 

February 2025 - Antigua Guatemala

Week 1 Arrive February 1, Depart February 7

Week 2 Arrive February 11, Depart February 17

Meals, lodging, tourist entry fees for sketching spots, private transport from Guatemala City Airport to our Posada in Antigua as well as any instruction included.  Antigua is a cosmopolitan, walkable city as well as a World UNESCO Heritage site.  Each week our group is limited to 8 people total so the scale is intimate and we get a lot of work done! This trip is wonderful for both beginning and experienced sketchers alike.  There is a slight discount if you’d like to consider both weeks.  (Who wants to be in Ohio in February for the most part, right?)  More information here.

June 2025 - Taos, New Mexico 

Arrive and check in for orientation Sunday June 8

Check out and depart after final breakfast together on Saturday June 14

Cost includes workshop instruction and facilitation, 24/7 use of the beautiful dedicated classroom space at Mabel Dodge Luhan House, breakfast and lunch each day and one final dinner as a group at the end of the week.  (We eat so well at Mabel’s that dinners can be optional in town independently.). This trip is the first one I put together 15 or so years ago and it’s sort of my “flagship” class where I bring the typewriters and fun extra supplies to trick out our travel journals.  Taos is a magical place, there is no other way to describe it really.  It’s a wonderful spot to deepen your connection to your art practice, whether you are just getting started, or you’ve been at it a while.  The skies there are ever changing, the light ever so dazzling.  It’s a painter’s dream. More information here.

It’s always such fun to have some of our Cincy-based sketchers on hand at one of my far-flung painting adventures.  So grab your painting buddy and come on along!!  Feel free to message me on Facebook or Instagram and I’m happy to answer questions about either trip.  There is a third trip which is later in summer, to Ireland.  Details are still coming together for that for 2025 but I’ll be sure to post it here when plans solidify.
